First-ever Dinner Is Grown event brought together farmer, media and consumer voices

Recapping topics from the inaugural Farm To Table event

On May 2, at an intimate dinner on an old dairy farm, Paul Rea, SVP of Agricultural Solutions North America, hosted farmers, media and consumer voices for an engaging discussion about the challenges of modern farming and agriculture. The dinner was prepared with local ingredients supplied in part by the farmers in attendance, including sweet potatoes and strawberries from Leggett Farming Partnership.

The dinner table was the perfect setting to dive into the challenges of putting dinner on American tables and hear directly from farmers who make this happen. Guests, including an editor of Parents Magazine and a registered dietician, asked questions about what farmers feed their own kids, why biotechnology, crop protection,  and stewardship of their land may be important to their operation and how they evolve their farming practices to keep the operation sustainable for future generations. Each person walked away having learned something new about the agriculture industry that will impact their future actions.
