A preview of the 2019 Commodity Classic trade show

Join BASF for scholarship announcements, a networking happy hour and conversation with expert resources in booth 645

Commodity Classic is right around the corner and we’re excited to be a part of it. We hope you’ll join us in Orlando, Florida, from February 27 – March 2. Growers will have the opportunity to learn from BASF experts in their region about localized information and agronomic insights, and we’ve got plenty in store for our media peers.

2019 BASF Science Behind media event
Join us as we kick off Commodity Classic with the annual Science Behind event, taking place at the “Ports of Call” Seaworld on February 27. For media only, this year’s event will unveil a new innovation from BASF, and you could be the first to hear about it. After a brief introduction from Scott Kay, Vice President of U.S. Crop, listen to BASF experts share pertinent information about our best kept secret. A grower panel discussion will close the event, with interview opportunities available immediately following.

BASF booth 645
During Commodity Classic, experts will be available for interviews at BASF booth 645. The discussion this year will be about soybeans, including two new soybean seed treatments and a new insecticide for soybean aphids in 2019. Join BASF in discussing the expanded soybean portfolio, which now includes Sefina™ Inscalis® insecticide, Vault® IP Plus seed treatment, Obvius® Plus fungicide seed treatment and Credenz® LibertyLink® GT27™.

2019 commodity association scholarships
Also taking place at the trade show is the presentation of the 2019 commodity association scholarships, which will take place at BASF booth 645 on February 28. In partnership with the American Soybean Association (ASA), the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), the National Sorghum Foundation (NSF) and the National Wheat Foundation (NWF), BASF will recognize 11 future leaders for their academic skills and achievements.

Grow Happy media event
On Friday, March 1, after a busy few days of visiting trade show exhibits, media personnel are invited to attend the BASF networking happy hour event. In sponsorship with The Agriculture Communicators Network (AAEA), National Association of Farm Broadcasting (NAFB) and The National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA), BASF welcomes media to unwind and enjoy cocktails while catching up with fellow ag communicators.

We’ve got a jam-packed schedule planned, and we hope you’ll be a part of it. To schedule interviews at the trade show with a BASF spokesperson about any of these topics, please contact Claire Dailey, cdailey@periscope.com, or Lexi Wayne, lwayne@periscope.com.
