Giving growers choice and flexibility in soybean seed

New soybean technology offers tolerance to both Liberty® herbicide and glyphosate

There are a multitude of environmental challenges that threaten yield potential from the moment seed goes into the ground and providing farmers with new technology is critical to helping them succeed in the field. That is why BASF has recently introduced Credenz LiberytLink® GT27™ for soybean growers.

This is the first soybean seed technology with herbicide-tolerant stacked traits. It allows growers to apply both Liberty herbicide and glyphosate over the top of soybeans for post-emergence control of broadleaf and grass weeds.

“With the flexibility to use Liberty and glyphosate, growers can choose the right post-emergence weed control program to match their in-season needs,” said Jody Wynia, BASF Product Manager, Traits.

The Credenz seed comes from germplasm with proven yield performance in the most challenging growing environments. The LibertyLink GT27 system combines the maximum yield potential from the elite genetics of Credenz, with the most effective weed control solutions from LibertyLink.

“We’re seeing on average four bushel increases across the range of maturity groups to really help drive that yield for the farmer in today’s market,” said Wynia.

Offering growers a broad range of options is important to BASF, and now with the recent portfolio additions, BASF is even better equipped to offer best-in-class solutions and useful applications for growers.

“We’re really excited to offer a solution for every grower’s need — from the seed to the fungicide treatment that’s needed at the end of the season,” said Wynia.

LibertyLink GT27 is not tolerant to all HPPD herbicides. HPPD herbicides currently on the market are prohibited for use with LibertyLink GT27 soybeans. Growers are encouraged to talk to their local BASF representative for more information.
