Provisia® Herbicide

Provisia herbicide offers a new site of action to the rice acre, giving you more options to help control weeds and maximize yield potential. Used as part of the Provisia Rice System on Provisia rice, this innovative technology provides an excellent rotational tool with the Clearfield® Production System for rice.

    Benefits of Provisia® Herbicide

    • Provides excellent early season control of ALS-resistant grasses, red rice, volunteer rice, and other grasses
    • Elimination of weedy rice allows for more uniform grain going to the mill
    • The Provisia Rice System offers more options for sustainable and profitable rice production

    How Provisia® Herbicide Works:
The Provisia Rice system is comprised of Provisia seed containing the Provisia trait, which allows growers to safely apply Provisia herbicide. The broad-spectrum control of Provisia herbicide works hard to protect your crop from weeds like red rice, barnyardgrass, volunteer rice and many more yield-robbing weeds.

Used in rotation with the Clearfield Production System for rice, the Provisia Rice System allows you to plant two years of rice in a three-year span by planting Provisia Rice, followed by Clearfield rice, followed by soybeans. This system gives you the flexibility to grow more rice over multiple seasons, while rotating different herbicide modes of action (ALS Inhibitors, ACCase Inhibitors) for sustainable management of all resistant rice types and annual grasses.

The rotation of the Provisia and Clearfield systems helps simplify farm management by ensuring uniform maturity of the crop through the elimination of off-types and allows growers to plan herbicide applications in advance. This ensures effective and predictable weed control. The Provisia Rice System allows rice acres lost to weedy rice to come back into production at least two years sooner than traditional management practices.
