NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana—BASF is pleased to announce the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), National Sorghum Foundation (NSF), National Wheat Foundation (NWF), and BASF joint scholarship winners at this year’s Commodity Classic in New Orleans. Two winners from each foundation will be awarded $2,500 to be applied during the 2021-2022 academic year.
The NCGA-BASF College Scholarship program will be awarding the NCGA William C. Berg Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarship in Agriculture to Valerie Bohuslavsky of Nebraska and Lane Remmich of Yuma, Colorado.
“The grower-members who make up the National Corn Growers Association are committed to broadening educational opportunities and opening doors to students like Valerie and Lane who are passionate to serve rural America,” said John Linder, Chairman of the NCGA.
The NCGA William C. Berg Academic Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship honors undergraduate and graduate students with a drive to make their mark in the agriculture industry. The NSF/BASK joint scholarship program will be awarding scholarships to Zoe Schulz from Gainfield, KS and Luke Arthaud from Keys, OK.

The NAWG/BASF joint scholarship program will be awarding the Jerry Minore Scholarship to Noah Smith and Lauren Stubbs.

The National Wheat Foundation – BASF Joint Scholarship is meant to recognize those students who have shown a passion for agriculture both inside and outside the classroom. Programs like the Minore Scholarship encourage the next generation to teach others the importance of wheat and agriculture and the significant role both play in society.
The late Jerry Minore was a BASF Senior Market Manager and a liaison to the wheat industry. Since his unexpected death in 2012, BASF has partnered with the National Wheat Foundation to fund scholarships and honor his advocacy efforts for wheat growers.
